Job summary

Wade Trim is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join our ICE Team in the Midwest/Northeast offices. A bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years of transmission design experience are required. Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil3D, PLS CADD, LPILE, and MFAD is essential.

Hybrid/remote work is available after 30 days. The candidate will lead design, perform calculations, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring safety and compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
• 10+ years of experience in transmission system design
• Proficiency with MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil3D, PLS CADD, LPILE and MFAD
• Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of overhead and underground transmission systems (69kV–765kV).
• Prepare engineering drawings and design packages (plan/profile, one-lines, structure loading, foundations).
• Perform engineering calculations and studies (foundational analysis, guying analysis, system analysis, conductor sizing, sag/tension).
• Ensure structural loading and clearance compliance; develop specifications and construction documentation.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, environmental, and permitting teams; support route selection and constructability reviews.
• Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and technical presentations.
