Join to apply for the Senior Transmission Line Engineer 1 - Grid role at Sargent & Lundy.

This position offers the opportunity to apply and expand your knowledge of transmission line engineering, including conductors, hardware, insulation, structures, foundations, and electrical principles.

Responsibilities include:

1. Designing transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range.
2. Conducting cost analyses, developing design criteria, routing, and siting of transmission lines.
3. Performing conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding, and induction studies.
4. Working with vendors and clients to specify transmission line components.
5. Leading a small project team.

4. Developing proposals and cost estimates for new projects.

This role is based on a hybrid schedule, requiring in-office work 3 days per week.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD software.
• At least 5 years of experience in transmission line projects, including design, cost estimation, scheduling, procurement specifications, and liaising with construction teams.
• Knowledge of right of way requirements, conductor sags/tensions, and transmission line documentation.
• Experience with technical plans, drawings, and engineering calculations.
• Familiarity with standards such as NESC, IEC, IEEE, ANSI, etc.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Valued but not required:

• PE license or ability to obtain one within a year.
• Experience with engineering proposals, scheduling, and additional software tools.

Compensation range:

$78,400.00 - $119,850.00
