We are currently representing a world-class, globally recognized engineering services and nuclear organization seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer / Transmission Line Engineer III to join their expanding Power Solutions business unit in Atlanta, GA.
This is a premier opportunity to play a pivotal leadership and technical role in high-profile Power Grid Utility (Underground & Overhead) and Substation Engineering projects across the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Engineering: Lead detailed design and engineering of overhead transmission line projects (12 kV to 500 kV) and underground transmission line projects (12 kV to 230 kV) from conceptual design through construction.
- Technical Leadership: Prepare conceptual designs and detailed engineering packages for HV & MV poles, foundations, structural analysis, and material specifications.
- Project Management & Business Development: Act as a project engineer or project manager when required, source active RFPs, and develop proposals to help secure growing T&D projects.
- Team Building & Mentoring: Help build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of T&D engineers while coordinating across civil/structural, substation, and protection disciplines.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Interface directly with clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and permitting agencies; conduct field reviews during construction.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience for the Engineer III level; minimum 10 years for the Senior Engineer position.
- Software Proficiency: Strong technical proficiency using the PLS software suite (PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-TOWER). Experience with ArcGIS and foundation/structural analysis tools is an asset.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep technical acuity in T&D engineering, familiarity with U.S. codes and standards, and experience with thermal upgrading and line condition assessments.
- Credentials: P.E. registration is strongly preferred.
