The Lead Transmission Line Engineer will develop transmission construction and design standards for AVANGRID’s overhead and underground lines. Write specifications for electrical equipment and act as SME; lead teams to solve complex design problems with broad perspective.

The role requires 7+ years of engineering experience, ABET-accredited degree, and a professional engineer license is desirable. Based in Augusta, Maine with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college/university.
• 7+ years of engineering experience; graduate degree or advanced training preferred.
• Professional engineer license desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed, complex engineering analyses, designs and calculations.
• Lead engineering teams to complete tasks and projects.
• Serve as SME for transmission equipment (conductors, poles, structures).
• Mentor other engineers in standards engineering.
