Job summary

Booth & Associates seeks a Project Engineer IV to lead complex transmission design within the Transmission Department. You will oversee engineers and technicians, provide technical leadership, and ensure compliance with NESC, NEC, and industry standards while delivering high-quality designs.

Ideal candidates hold a B.S. in Civil or Electrical Engineering, a PE license, and 8+ years of relevant experience, with strong CAD/EMF analysis capabilities and vendor coordination skills.

Qualifications

• Lead the transmission design of projects from concept through final design.
• Ensure project requirements defined by project managers are met.
• Develop equipment deliverables and bid evaluations.
• Interpret NERC, FERC, and regional standards and communicate requirements.
• Lead routing studies, cost estimating, and conceptual line designs.
• Perform quality reviews of drawings and CAD data across platforms.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the team.
• Travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the transmission design of projects from concept through final design.
• Develop and review equipment specifications, data sheets, RFQs, and bid evaluations.
• Manage routing studies, construction cost estimates, and line design concepts.
• Coordinate with vendors, clients, designers, and field staff for data exchanges.
• Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and change orders.
• Perform QA/QC on production drawings and project data.
• Support field inspections, testing, and construction administration.
• Prepare technical reports and client presentations.
