Job summary

Merck is seeking an Early Clinical Scientist to drive design and execution of first-in-human studies in collaboration with Clinical Directors and cross-functional teams. You will ensure safety assessments, risk management, and real-time oversight of ongoing trials to deliver high-quality data.

Responsibilities include trial planning, program leadership, and development of SOPs. The role requires strong writing, regulatory understanding, and mentoring of junior staff within a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Degree in Life Sciences; minimum years of relevant experience as specified
• Experience leading clinical programs and trials to milestones
• Strong writing and communication for regulatory documents

Responsibilities

• Lead design, planning, and execution of early-phase clinical trials and programs
• Oversee cross-functional teams to achieve trial objectives
• Ensure compliance with GCP, ICH and regulatory requirements
• Mentor junior staff and drive data-driven decisions across functions
• Develop and implement SOPs and training materials
• Represent clinical development in cross-functional initiatives
