Qualifications

• Valid chauffeur license required.
• Clean driving record required.
• Prior experience with seniors or individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Familiarity with wheelchair lifts and securement systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and assist clients safely.
• Ability to use common operation equipment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a wheelchair-accessible van to transport residents.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Ensure safety protocols including wheelchair seat belt securement.
• Maintain van cleanliness and upkeep.
• Report accidents or concerns promptly.
• Assist residents boarding and exiting the vehicle, securing wheelchairs.
• Provide courteous, compassionate interactions with passengers.
• Maintain punctual, reliable service and schedules.
• Update Porter Hills Village on schedule changes or concerns.
• Complete daily logs, mileages, and incident documentation.
