Job summary

TYLin is seeking a highly skilled Senior Architect to lead the planning and design of transit facilities across the Chicago region and broader Midwest. This role involves shaping stations, maintenance facilities, and yards for agencies such as CTA, Metra, and Amtrak, within multidisciplinary teams.

You will ensure compliance with codes and agency standards, mentor junior staff, and drive design production from concept through construction, with QA/QC oversight and active client engagement.

Qualifications

• RA in Illinois is required/transferable via reciprocity.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
• Demonstrated transit/public infrastructure project experience is ideal.
• Experience with CTA, Metra, Amtrak, or DOTs preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Chicago/Illinois building codes and ADA requirements.
• Proficient in design documentation and construction-phase services.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and documentation for transit facilities including stations and yards.
• Coordinate across structural, MEP, civil disciplines and with project managers.
• Manage subconsultants and internal design teams for timely, quality deliverables.
• Interpret client standards and agency requirements (CTA, Metra, Amtrak).
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, and stakeholder engagement.
• Oversee design through construction documents and construction administration.
• Provide QA/QC oversight for architectural deliverables.
