Job summary

The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey’s Law Department seeks experienced transactional attorneys to join its 100-person team. The role focuses on structuring, drafting, and negotiating high-value real estate, procurement, and commercial contracts, advising on risk, and leading complex transactions from inception to execution.

Qualifications

• Bar in good standing in NY or NJ.
• 6+ years of experience in general commercial transactions, real estate, construction or procurement.
• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale transactions and drafting counsel.
• Law firm training is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Structure, draft, negotiate, and advise on real estate transactions, including complex leases and development agreements.
• Handle procurement and commercial contracts, including goods/services, construction, IP, and confidentiality provisions.
• Lead significant transactions with full drafting/negotiation and risk analysis.
• Report to the Chief Business Counsel and manage internal approvals and governance.
