Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Bethlehem, PA is seeking a Trailer Mechanic to perform intermediate maintenance and repair on trailers and equipment. Under routine supervision, you will troubleshoot issues and complete fleet work to meet company standards.

Must have at least 2 years of semi-trailer maintenance experience and be able to work outdoors. You may need to supply basic tools or buy them through our toolbox program; willingness to work nights, weekends, and multiple shifts is required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with 2 years of semi-trailer maintenance and repair.
• At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes.
• Able to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase program.
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements.
• Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficient knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment.
• Troubleshoot trailer issues and perform intermediate repairs to specifications.
• Complete work orders and follow warranty guidelines.
• Assist with onboarding and mentorship of trainees.
• Participate in OE training for repairs and maintain safety procedures.
• Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers.
