Job summary

DeKalb County is seeking a Traffic Signal Installer Lead to install and maintain traffic control devices at the Decatur, GA site. You will lead daily activities, guide less experienced workers, and ensure safety and quality on each project.

The role requires three years of experience in traffic signal installation and a valid Georgia CDL with endorsements. You will coordinate supplies, operate bucket trucks, and oversee site readiness and documentation as part of a collaborative public-works

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years of experience in traffic signal installation.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia CDL with endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily work activities of co-workers; confer with supervisor for direction; organize tasks to complete work and monitor progress.
• Provide technical guidance, instruction and training to co-workers on procedures and equipment; assist with supervision and performance evaluations.
• Assist lineman in installing and maintaining traffic control devices; set up safety zones; prepare sites for installations; perform digging, wiring, concrete work, and use bucket truck.
• Obtain supplies for daily assignments; drive to warehouse; gather equipment; load/unload; complete required documentation.
• Drive and maintain work-site vehicles; perform pre-trip inspections; monitor fluid levels and tire pressure; report issues to supervisor.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Valid Georgia Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsements
