Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP in State College, PA seeks a Senior Traffic Engineer to lead traffic projects across the mid-Atlantic and nationally. Responsibilities include design of signals, signing, ITS devices, and conduct of safety studies using VISSIM/Synchro/Visum tools.

Ideal candidates have a BS in Civil Engineering, 16+ years of experience, PE license in PA or via comity, and strong communication skills. Onsite work with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum 16 years of progressive experience in traffic engineering.
• Strong understanding of traffic modeling (macro, meso, micro).
• Experience with traffic control devices including signals, signing, markings, ITS devices, and lighting.
• Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, HCM and HSM.
• Licensed PE in PA or via comity from another state; PTOE preferred.
• Experience with PennDOT projects; MicroStation and AutoCAD experience.
• Proficient in MS Office; strong communication and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and management of projects involving signals, signing, markings, and lighting.
• Conduct traffic safety/operations studies and develop analyses with modeling tools.
• Lead quality control reviews, marketing and business development, and staff mentoring.
