Job summary

Arcadis is looking for a proven Senior Traffic Engineer – Design Lead to join our Transportation team in Nashville, TN. This hybrid position offers flexibility along with opportunities for in-person collaboration.

You will lead a team in developing traffic plans for major roadway projects and mentor junior engineers. The ideal candidate has over 10 years of experience, a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, and a PE license. Benefits include medical coverage and 20 days PTO.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant work experience post degree.
• PE in a US-based jurisdiction with ability to obtain PE in other jurisdictions within six months of hire.
• Must possess a US Drivers license.

Role Description

Arcadis is looking for a proven Senior Traffic Engineer – Design Lead to join our Transportation team and help shape high‑profile roadway projects across the eastern United States.

This hybrid position may be based in one of our Eastern US offices. You will have the flexibility of a hybrid schedule, along with opportunities to collaborate in person with colleagues and clients when it matters most.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high‑performing team of engineers in developing traffic, ITS, and tolling plan elements for major Interstate and arterial projects
• Drive scope, schedule, and budget performance for traffic tasks on major traditional and design‑build projects
• Provide quality assurance leadership on highly complex projects where precision and sound judgment matter
• Build strong client relationships by leading technical discussions, presenting results, and serving as a trusted advisor throughout project delivery
• Mentor and develop junior and mid‑level engineers, helping strengthen technical capability and consulting skills across the team

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant work experience post degree
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
• PE in a US‑based jurisdiction with the ability to obtain your PE in other jurisdictions (as needed) within six months of hire
• Expertise in the use of Microstation/Open Roads Designer, GuideSign, and SignCAD
• Must possess a US Drivers license
