Job description

STV is seeking an energetic and highly motivated Senior Traffic Engineer/Project Manager for our locations in Dallas, Fort Worth, Frisco, TX, or Phoenix, AZ, within the Texas Mountain Region. The role involves providing leadership on traffic engineering projects, coordinating with various functional groups within STV, and participating in projects across Texas and other central U.S. markets.

This position requires a minimum of 11 years of experience in Traffic Engineering, focusing on transportation projects with State DOTs, local governments, and the private sector.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Leading technical services on traffic engineering and ITS projects, including traffic signal design, ITS design, signal timing, lighting, ADA/sidewalk design, signing, and pavement marking.
  • Conducting traffic engineering studies such as impact analyses, signal timing, simulation modeling, warrants, capacity, safety, and parking studies.
  • Developing final plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) for projects in collaboration with a team.
  • Preparing reports and presentations.
  • Mentoring and training less experienced staff.
  • Managing tasks and interacting with clients.
  • Integrating into multiple project teams with overlapping schedules across various states.
  • Ensuring work accuracy and coordinating for quality assurance and control.
  • Verifying compliance with codes and standards.
  • Engaging in business development and proposal development activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited program.
  • At least 11 years of relevant experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas.
  • Experience with traffic signal design, timing, illumination, operational, and capacity analysis.
  • Proficiency with traffic software (HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, CORSIM, SIDRA) and transportation planning software (TransCAD, CUBE) is a plus.
  • Experience with CAD applications like AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation OpenRoads.
  • Data analysis and visualization skills (Power BI, Tableau) are desirable.
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with TxDOT and Texas City/County projects preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams.

Compensation Range: $122,808 - $163,744
