Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, transportation engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency with industry-standard software (e.g., Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, AutoCAD or similar) and strong quantitative analysis skills.
• Experience in Transportation Planning and Traffic Studies, with the ability to develop and review technical documentation and planning reports.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with clients, agencies, and project teams, and to manage multiple assignments efficiently.

Responsibilities

Role Description

The Senior Traffic Engineer will provide technical leadership for traffic and transportation projects, including the design, review, and oversight of traffic studies and analyses. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting field observations, analyzing traffic data, safety evaluations, and preparing clear, concise reports and presentations for the client and local communities. The role may involve collaborating with multi- disciplinary teams and providing expert recommendations on traffic operations, roadway improvements, and transportation plans.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Montgomery County, MD, requiring regular presence in the office and occasional local site visits, three days on site and two days remote.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Traffic Analysis and Traffic Operations, including use of standard modeling and simulation tools.
• Candidates should possess experience in Transportation Planning and Traffic Studies, with the ability to develop and review technical documentation and planning reports.
• Candidates should possess expertise in Road Safety, including identification of safety issues and development of mitigation strategies.
• Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering, transportation engineering, or a related field is required.
