Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is seeking a Traffic Control Flagger to direct traffic around construction zones and work areas. You will set up signs, cones and barricades, communicate with motorists, and ensure safety for workers and the public.

The role requires standing for long periods, outdoors in all weather, and lifting up to 50 pounds. A valid license, background check, and DOT readiness are required; ATSSA Flagger and Defensive Driver training are preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and drug tests.
• Must meet federal DOT requirements.
• Successfully complete ATSSA Flagger training and company Defensive Driver training.
• Willingness to travel statewide, occasional overnight stays; may work nights/weekends.
• Excellent attendance and reliable transportation required.
• Communicate effectively with contractors and internal teams while delivering high service levels.
• Work well in a team environment and adhere to safety PPE.

Responsibilities

• Set up signs, cones and other traffic control devices around work areas to divert traffic.
• Effectively manage traffic flow with stop/slow paddles.
• Communicate with team members using two-way radios.
• Stand and walk for long periods, up to 10 hours a day.
• Lift, carry, push, pull and move items up to 50 pounds.
• Drive company vehicles to transport equipment to job sites.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions with exposure to moving traffic.
• Follow all company policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned.
