The City of Raleigh is seeking Senior Trades Maintenance Specialists focused on skilled repair, maintenance, and equipment operation within a specific city maintenance or operational area. In this lead role, you'll take charge of performing and overseeing predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance on facilities and equipment. You'll also train and support fellow team members while handling more advanced projects that require specialized trade knowledge or certifications. About Us:
Engineering Services is a department dedicated to providing services to internal and external stakeholders through multiple divisions including Construction Management, Integrated Facility Services, Facilities and Operations, Vehicle Fleet Services, Roadway Design and Construction, and Stormwater. This position is assigned to the Facilities and Operations Division, which is responsible for a diverse number of functions and activities that serve the entire City organization such as day-to-day and preventive operations and maintenance of facilities, customer-based service deliverables, special events and meeting set-ups, emergency response in inclement weather, disasters, or emergencies, and critical equipment management.
About You:
We are looking to employ reliable individuals with knowledge of the basic trades maintenance principles to provide exceptional support for the Facilities and Operations Maintenance program. Must have a strong work ethic with positive orientation and willing to learn and grow to prepare for the potential of future advancement.

Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Heavy Work:
Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in both the field and in an indoor office environment with frequent exposure to hazardous physical conditions (such as mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibration, etc.); moderate exposure to atmospheric conditions (such as fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, etc.); frequent exposure to hazardous materials (such as chemicals, blood and other body fluids); moderate exposure to environmental conditions (such as disruptive people, imminent danger, or a threatening environment); and moderate exposure to extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting and intense noise.
