The position requires strong communication skills, sound investment judgment, and the ability to thrive under pressure in a collaborative environment. The internal title for this role is intended to be Financial Advisor | Portfolio Management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the purchase, allocation, and implementation of fixed income trades across client portfolios.
  • Collaborate with Wealth Advisors on fixed income strategy and client portfolio recommendations.

Equity Trading & Portfolio Management

  • Serve as senior resource to the trading team on complex equity trading and portfolio implementation initiatives.
  • Review client accounts relative to target asset allocations and portfolio objectives, identifying rebalancing opportunities and recommending trades based on market conditions, tax considerations, capital gains constraints, and client-specific requirements.
  • Assist in the execution of firm-wide strategy trades.

Investment Research

  • Conduct security analysis and company, industry, economic, and macroeconomic research to support buy, sell, and hold recommendations.
  • Develop and contribute independent research and investment ideas across asset classes, sectors, and market themes as opportunities arise.
  • Contribute to investment committee discussions and portfolio strategy discussions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, statistics, business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in fixed income portfolio management, trading, investment management, wealth management, or a related field.
Desired Qualifications/Skills
  • CFA designation or significant progress toward completion of the CFA Program.
  • Experience managing corporate, municipal, and government bond portfolios.
  • Experience constructing and managing individual bond ladders.
  • Strong understanding of fixed income markets, including yield curve dynamics, duration management, credit analysis, interest rate risk, and portfolio construction.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across investment, advisory, and operations teams.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Experience managing assets for high-net-worth investors, RIAs, family offices, institutional clients, pension plans, or insurance portfolios.
  • Experience with Bloomberg Terminal, Bloomberg PORT, Yield Book, FactSet, Morningstar Direct, or similar analytical platforms.
  • Experience with Python, VBA, or other analytical and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with portfolio management systems, trading platforms, and performance reporting software.
