Watts & Associates is seeking a Trademark & Copyright Associate to join its Chicago, IL office. You will manage trademark clearance, prosecution and portfolio matters, and advise on copyright and brand-protection issues for sophisticated clients including global tech brands.

The ideal candidate has approximately 7 years of IP experience, strong research and writing skills, and Illinois Bar admission or prompt eligibility. Competitive base with bonuses and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• This role requires 7 years of trademark, copyright, or related IP experience.
• Strong legal research, writing and analytical skills are expected.
• Admission to the Illinois Bar or eligibility to obtain admission promptly is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee trademark clearance, prosecution and portfolio matters.
• Draft and respond to office actions and enforcement correspondence.
• Advise on copyright, advertising and brand-protection issues.
• Coordinate international filings and work with foreign counsel.
• Develop enforcement and portfolio strategies and counsel clients on launches.
