Job summary

Timberline Communications Inc. in Salem, OR seeks a Lead Tower Technician to perform advanced tower work and serve as the technical lead for the crew.

You will bridge hands-on construction with on-site leadership, guiding technicians, ensuring quality installations, and supporting safety compliance. The role requires 3+ years of wireless tower climbing, OSHA 10, and a track record as a senior or lead technician.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of wireless tower climbing and construction experience.
• Senior or lead technician experience.
• OSHA 10 (OSHA 30 preferred).
• Competent Climber and Rescue Certification and CPR/First Aid.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass screenings.
• Ability to climb towers up to 150+ feet and lift 50+ lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex tower work including antenna, mount, coax, fiber, and radio installations.
• Serve as the primary technical resource for crew members.
• Provide hands-on training and guidance to junior technicians.
• Ensure all installations meet carrier specifications and engineering standards.
• Follow OSHA and company safety policies; lead JSA and tailgate meetings.
• Inspect work for quality, troubleshoot issues, and propose field solutions.
• Assign daily tasks, communicate progress, and maintain a professional jobsite.
• Assist with documentation, tools, PPE, and equipment maintenance.
