Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design tooling, fixtures, and GSE for lunar vehicle production. You will work with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to define and implement tooling concepts, build processes, and robust production methods.

This role emphasizes manufacturability, safety, and regulatory compliance. You will release engineering artifacts, support fabrication, and drive continuous improvement across the tooling lifecycle in a fast-paced aerospace environment

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in manufacturing engineering, tooling design or GSE in regulated industries.
• Experience releasing tooling, fixtures, and GSE for mechanical assemblies.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD, GD&T, tolerancing, producibility, and documentation control.
• Experience supporting production with nonconformances and process improvements.
• Knowledge of hand calculations for tooling structural analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design tooling, fixtures, handling equipment, and GSE for manufacturing and test of flight hardware.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop tooling concepts and build processes.
• Plan and support builds of engineering demonstrators, test articles, and prototypes.
• Drive DFX, perform producibility assessments, and bridge manufacturing gaps.
• Define and refine tooling and GSE requirements for rapid design and iteration.
• Develop, release, and maintain engineering documentation for tooling and production.
• Support tooling fabrication, validation, and troubleshooting for safe production.
