Job summary

Freudenberg Group in Beverly, MA is seeking a Senior Tooling Engineer to organize and maintain the tool room, manage documentation, drawings and spare parts, and assist in design and drafting under supervision.

The role requires experience in mold making, GD&T, and reading CAD drawings; you will coordinate repairs, quotes, and SAP inventory, develop SOPs, perform root cause analysis, and support cross-functional teams with 5S and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with tool design and mold making.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and CAD files.
• Knowledge of GD&T.
• Experience with micrometers and measuring indicators.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to other sites.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain the tool room, documentation, drawings, and spare parts inventory.
• Assist in design and drafting of components under supervision.
• Coordinate tool repairs and preventative maintenance with vendors.
• Assist with ordering and quoting new tooling components for projects.
• Support integration of tool room spare parts into SAP and other inventory systems.
• Develop SOPs and work instructions for tooling operations.
• Document tooling changes and repair histories for traceability.
• Conduct root cause analysis and propose tooling improvements with 5S and CI.
• Interface with Operations, Engineering, Tooling and Supply Chain to prioritize needs.
• Provide hands-on support for basic injection mold and extrusion maintenance.
