Job summary

Freudenberg Medical LLC in Beverly, MA, is seeking a Mechanical Tooling Engineer to organize and maintain the tool room, manage documentation, drawings, and spare parts inventory, and assist in design and drafting under supervision.

You will coordinate tool repairs with vendors, support SAP inventory integration, and help develop SOPs and work instructions for tooling operations, ensuring traceability and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with tool design and mold making environments.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and CAD files; GD&T knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain the tool room, including documentation, drawings, and spare parts inventory.
• Assist in the design and drafting of components under supervision.
• Coordinate tool repairs and preventative maintenance with internal and external vendors.
• Assist with ordering and quoting new tooling components for projects.
• Support integration of tool room spare parts into SAP and other inventory systems.
• Develop SOPs and work instructions for tooling operations.
• Document tooling changes and repair histories in SAP for traceability.
• Conduct root cause analysis and propose tooling improvements with 5S and CI.
• Interface with Operations, Engineering, Tooling, and Supply Chain to prioritize tooling needs.
• Provide hands-on support for basic injection mold and extrusion maintenance under supervision.
