Job summary

Alcon USA is seeking a Principal Tooling Design and Polymer Molding SME to set the technical bar for injection molding and tooling across global operations. You will connect R and D to manufacturing to deliver reliable, cost effective production while ensuring compliance with medical device standards.

You will lead molding trials, validate processes, optimize hot runner systems, and mentor engineers, driving improvements and capital projects in a regulated, global manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Strong command of scientific molding practices and troubleshooting.
• Experience with molding process validation and qualification IQ OQ PQ.
• Proven ability to design and optimize mold tooling for medical devices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee molding trials, generate clear process documentation, and assess raw material impacts on molding performance.
• Collaborate with cross functional partners to lower defects, enhance mold performance, and increase throughput.
• Scout advanced tooling technologies and auxiliary equipment to improve safety, efficiency, and cost.
• Recommend capital investments, standardize tooling, and produce capital justifications.
