Job summary

The Tool & Die Maker position at American Trim supports stamping operations, troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing and modifying dies and tooling to ensure safe, efficient production and high-quality parts.

You will set up and operate machine tools, read blueprints, inspect with precision instruments, and work on CNC or conversational mills; seven years of Tool & Die experience, a high school diploma, and a strong safety mindset are required.

Qualifications

• Seven years of Tool & Die experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED/equivalent preferred.
• Journeyperson certification or equivalent training preferred.
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining stamping dies.
• Experience with progressive, cam, deep draw and/or transfer dies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain and modify stamping dies and related tooling.
• Set up and operate machine tools in the Tool Room.
• Change internal die components to produce different part numbers.
• Repair, maintain, adjust and sharpen dies, jigs and fixtures.
• Diagnose tooling problems and return tooling to safe production.
• Perform routine service on Tool Room machinery and equipment.
• Operate machining and grinding equipment including CNC/conversational mills.
• Use precision measuring instruments to inspect tooling and components.
• Read blueprints and technical drawings to complete Tool & Die work.
• Follow safety procedures and environmental requirements.
• Assist with maintaining tooling inventories and supplies.
• Communicate status of repairs to supervision and team members.
