Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking a dynamic Tool & Die Maker for our new manufacturing operations in South Chesterfield, VA. You will design, make and repair dies, assist engineering with prototypes, and support maintenance with mechanical tasks.

The role requires 5+ years in a tool & die shop, strong blueprint reading, and proficiency with CNC tools and software. Night shifts/weekend work may be required; benefits include medical, dental, vision and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years of experience in Tool & Die machine shop.
• Knowledge of progressive dies is a must.
• Blueprint reading is essential.
• Experience with engine lathes, mill machines, jig bore, surface grinders, and press operation.
• Familiarity with MasterCam, AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Daily check with supervisor for incoming work such as broken dies; prioritize accordingly.
• Design dies from engineering drawings, sketches or verbal direction.
• Set up and operate conventional or CNC equipment to cut, bore, grind, or shape parts to prescribed dimensions.
• Operate tool room equipment to make and repair dies.
• Assist with prototypes from engineering.
