Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Tier 3 SOC Analyst to join a leading cybersecurity and defense technology organization. This onsite role in RTP, NC requires an active Secret Clearance and offers a long-term contract.

You will lead advanced threat hunting, incident response, and detection engineering efforts, mentoring junior analysts and presenting findings to stakeholders. Extensive Splunk expertise and a deep knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK are essential.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance required.
• 5+ years of experience in an enterprise SOC environment.
• Experience operating at a Tier 3 SOC Analyst level.
• Strong hands-on experience with Splunk including correlation searches and dashboards.
• Experience building detections, alerts, and SOC playbooks.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced threat hunting to identify undiscovered malicious activity.
• Investigate complex security incidents and provide remediation recommendations.
• Develop, tune, and maintain advanced detection rules in Splunk.
• Create and enhance SOC playbooks, workflows, and incident response procedures.
• Analyze network, endpoint, cloud, and log data to identify TTPs and indicators of compromise.
• Collaborate with cross-functional security teams to improve monitoring and detection.
• Mentor junior SOC analysts and provide technical leadership during high-priority investigations.
• Present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
