Job summary

IDEXX Laboratories, Inc in Westbrook, ME seeks a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst & Threat Hunter to proactively search for threats and harden defenses across endpoints, network, and cloud.

You will lead incident response, develop hunting playbooks, and mentor junior analysts while collaborating with SOC and security engineering. The role is on-site in Maine with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in cybersecurity with at least 3 years in threat hunting or advanced incident response.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, or related field.
• GCIH and CompTIA CySA+ certifications preferred.
• Hands-on experience using EDR and threat hunting tools.
• Expert PowerShell and Python scripting; SIEM query language.
• IR lifecycle, methodologies, and forensic techniques.
• Networking, OS (Windows/Linux/macOS) knowledge; common attack vectors.
• Scripting skills for automating hunting tasks.

Responsibilities

• Proactively hunt for indicators of compromise (IOCs) and APTs across network, endpoints, and cloud environments.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of security events and network/endpoint data to identify malicious activity.
• Utilize SIEM and EDR platforms with scripting to perform complex searches and data analysis.
• Lead and participate in incident response, containment, eradication, and recovery efforts.
• Develop and refine threat hunting playbooks, procedures, and detection rules.
• Collaborate with security engineering and SOC to integrate threat intel and enhance tools.
• Mentor junior analysts and improve overall security posture.
