Job summary

Maleda Tech is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join a front-line Threat Detection and Response team. You will help shape detection and incident response strategy, build automation that scales, mentor teammates, and collaborate with partners across the organization to reduce security risk.

The role demands 5+ years in security operations, strong scripting skills (Python, SQL, Pandas), and the ability to lead complex investigations with cross-functional partners. Remote within the U.S.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on security operations experience.
• Proficiency in Python or similar scripting; SQL & Pandas a plus.
• Experience automating security detection and response.
• Knowledge of Cyber Kill Chain and MITRE ATT&CK.
• Ability to lead through influence in complex, ambiguous situations.
• Strong organization and multitasking skills.
• Self-motivated, creative problem-solver.

Responsibilities

• Investigate security incidents using forensics and data analysis.
• Proactively hunt for threats across environments.
• Build automation and detection models to speed response at scale.
• Collaborate with engineering to design and deliver detection solutions.
• Identify visibility gaps and improve logging and detection.
• Lead complex investigations with Legal, Privacy, and Engineering.
• Apply lessons from incidents to drive improvements.
