Job summary

Activision Blizzard, Inc. seeks an Expert Detection and Response Engineer to defend players, studios, platforms, and enterprise environments from advanced cyber threats. This hands-on role focuses on attacker behavior, rapid analysis, and effective containment within the Global Security Operations team.

You will investigate security incidents across cloud, corporate, and production environments, develop detections, and automate triage workflows. On-call rotation and up to 10% travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS or security.
• 10+ years in security with incident response leadership.
• Experience across full incident lifecycle and enterprise environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Hands-on with SIEM/EDR and detection content development.
• Experience with AI-assisted security tooling and guardrails.

Responsibilities

• Detect, investigate, and respond to security incidents across cloud, corporate, and production environments.
• Monitor telemetry and logs to identify anomalies and threats.
• Perform alert triage, investigation, and forensic analysis.
• Conduct endpoint, identity, cloud, and malware investigations.
• Develop, refine, and tune threat detections within the SIEM.
• Enhance automation and SOAR workflows to improve efficiency.
• Design AI-assisted triage/enrichment pipelines to accelerate investigations.
• Evaluate AI tooling for adversarial risks and output safety.
• Contribute to TDIR playbooks, runbooks, and metrics; collaborate with teams.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide off-hours support.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical teams and leadership.
• Occasional travel up to 10% for on-site support.
