Job summary

Activision Publishing, Inc. is seeking an Expert Detection and Response Engineer to protect players, studios, platforms, and enterprise environments from advanced cyber threats.

The role emphasizes hands-on threat detection, rapid analysis, and effective containment within a global Security Operations team. Key duties include investigating incidents across cloud and on-prem environments, enhancing detections in SIEM/EDR, and contributing to playbooks and runbooks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science, information security, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressively accountable security experience with incident response.
• Hands-on threat detection, security operations, and incident response across full lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of modern threat landscape, attacker TTPs, and procedures.
• Experience with log analysis, correlation, and investigative triage.
• Scripting/programming experience (Python, PowerShell, KQL).
• Experience with SIEM/EDR, building or extending detection content.

Responsibilities

• Detect, investigate, and respond to security incidents across cloud, corporate, and production environments.
• Monitor and analyze telemetry and logs to identify anomalous activity and threats.
• Perform alert triage, deep investigations, and forensic analysis through containment and remediation.
• Conduct endpoint, identity, cloud, and malware investigations with timeline reconstruction.
• Develop and tune detections based on attacker behavior and investigation findings.
• Automate investigation/response workflows using SOAR, scripting, and analytics.
• Collaborate with engineering, stakeholders, and vendors during investigations.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide off-hours support.
