Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Sr Principal Software Engineer - Thread Lead to work on-site in San Diego, El Segundo, or Oklahoma City. The role leads data-centric initiatives, driving end-to-end data lifecycle from acquisition through dissemination, within regulated, high-clearance environments.

The candidate will supervise cross-functional IPTs, influence stakeholders, and define enterprise data standards while aligning with mission objectives and program requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 8 years of related engineering experience or Master’s with 6 years or PhD with 4 years.
• Experience as technical project lead and Product Owner accountable for outcomes.
• Understanding of communications tech, data acquisition, storage, processing and analysis including big data challenges.

Responsibilities

• Provide collaborative technical leadership driving maturation of data solutions across programs and IPTs.
• Act as SME for data acquisition, harmonization, processing, storage, analysis and dissemination.
• Translate raw sensor/telemetry into actionable information for mission-critical decisions.
• Lead architecture across product lifecycle with focus on off-site storage and extensible data dissemination.
• Define enterprise strategy and expand mission through transforming raw data into actionable insights.
• Advise leadership on analytics opportunities and roadmaps.
