Otsuka America Pharmaceutical Inc. seeks an Associate Director, Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) in Neurology Rare Disease. This senior field-based, non-sales role reports to the Senior Director, Marketing and Thought Leader Liaison.

The TLL builds trusted relationships with national and regional thought leaders, drives regional plans, and translates field insights into disease education, market development and launch readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees preferred.
• 8+ years in biopharma, including field marketing or TLL roles.
• Recent experience in rare/neurology/ genetics preferred.
• Pre-launch and launch experience with pre-/post-approval boundaries.
• Ability to operate independently in a field role without a franchise.
• Strong clinical/scientific fluency for discussions with senior clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Develop regional plans aligned with national strategy and launch priorities.
• Map priority institutions and thought leaders to clarify diagnosis, testing, referral, and treatment connections.
• Use insights to prioritize engagement and support Account Manager planning.
• Coordinate with MSLs on shared thought leaders, scientific needs and joint engagements.
• Establish compliant relationships with national/regional experts and centers.
• Develop and execute national/regional peer-to-peer education programs.
• Identify advisors and, after approval, promotional faculty.
• Capture aggregate field insights on disease recognition, genetics, referral and treatment readiness.
• Compare insights across accounts to identify regional barriers.
• Share implications with internal partners and refer evidence needs to Medical Affairs.
• Lead regional advocacy engagement with local organizations.
• Provide input on partnerships; approvals stay with company functions.
• Lead thought-leader engagement strategy for national/regional congresses.
• Partner with Marketing to inform launch strategy and faculty programs.
• Translate regional insights into coordinated action with cross-functional partners.
• Travel >50% and attend priority congresses and advisory boards.
• Report safety information and product complaints through proper processes.
