Job summary

Headway Technologies in Milpitas, CA is seeking a Thin Film Process Development Engineer (Writer) to develop, monitor, and support writer-related processes for new and prototype products; design advanced wafer experiments, analyze data, and report results.

Requires a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics (PhD preferred) and hands-on experience with PVD/IBD/CVD/ALD/PECVD; proficiency with JMP/SPC and Microsoft Office; and ability to drive cost reductions and

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics; PhD preferred.
Three years of hands-on experience in PVD/IBD/CVD/ALD/PECVD.
Experience in the magnetic recording head, hard disk drive, or semiconductor industry is a plus.
Proficiency with JMP, SPC, or similar software; MS Office.

Responsibilities

Develops, sustains, and supports thin film processes for new/prototype products.
Designs advanced wafer experiments and analyzes data to inform decisions.
Documents procedures and trains operators on processes and changes.
Collaborates with process, product, and equipment teams to improve yields and reduce scrap.
Ensures safety policies and work site compliance.
