Job summary

Type One Energy Group is seeking a Senior Thermofluids Engineer to lead design, analysis, and delivery of thermal-fluid systems for the Infinity One stellarator and future fusion power plants. You will guide steam generator integration, perform simulations, and influence engineering decisions across multiple projects with internal teams and partners like AECOM.

The role reports to the Thermofluids Engineering Manager and requires strong communication skills and a track record in high- stakes R&D

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• Experience in analytical thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics.
• Experience with designing and operating water-cooling systems.
• Experience using thermo-fluid simulation tools such as REFPROP, GASPAK, HePAK, or ASPEN HYSYS.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical thermodynamic, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer calculations for core and support systems.
• Design and specify piping, pumps, valves, and heat exchangers.
• Develop PFDs/P&IDs and related design documents.
• Contribute to steam generator design, sizing, integration, and performance evaluation with partners like AECOM.
• Set technical strategy for projects and provide cross-project guidance using modeling tools.
