Lenovo is seeking a Sr. Thermal Engineer focused on fluid dynamics and energy-efficient server design. The role centers on developing thermal solutions for x86-based servers, optimizing airflow and cooling performance while aligning with component specifications.

You will review concepts, run CFD analyses, and lead validation testing, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, scalable thermal architectures for next-generation products.

Qualificações

• 12+ years of relevant work experience, preferably server design.
• Experience using CFD tools to predict operating performance of the server (e.g., Siemens FLOEFD/Flotherm, Star-CCM+).
• Modeling and testing skills to validate a design; e.g., measuring airflow and temperature on the air bench.
• Data acquisition and ability to organize and summarize results.
• Familiar with Fan Speed Control algorithm and tuning method.

Responsabilidades

• Review server system concepts and enable a thermal solution compliant with component specifications.
• Ensure PCB layouts permit thermal solution placement and adequate airflow/waterflow.
• Select fans, heat sinks, and other thermal components balancing cost and performance.
• Provide mechanical and thermal review for prototyping boards.
• Document and analyze simulation and test results; write test plans.
