Job summary

Etched.ai, Inc. is seeking a Thermal Manufacturing Engineer to own the development and scaling of liquid cooling systems, primarily cold plates, from prototype to high-volume production.

You will be the technical authority on cold plate fabrication methods including skiving, brazing, FSW, and diffusion bonding, working with CM partners and internal teams to meet performance and reliability goals. You will lead process qualification, PFMEA, and documentation, drive root cause analysis, and

Qualifications

• 7+ years in manufacturing/thermal systems with hands-on cold plate experience.
• Expertise in two or more cold plate fabrication processes listed above.
• Knowledge of aluminum and copper alloys, braze alloys, and failure modes.
• Experience qualifying cold plate manufacturers and performing process capability studies (Cpk/GR&R).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end manufacturing engineering for thermal components from NPI to mass production.
• Develop and qualify cold plate fabrication processes (skiving, brazing, FSW, bonding, drilling, extrusion channels).
• Define process parameters, controls, and acceptance criteria; set capability benchmarks.
• Partner with design teams to drive DFx for liquid cooling system designs.
• Lead qualification and first-article inspection at CM/supplier sites; maintain PFMEA and control plans.
