We are partnering with a leading space technology client in the LA area to hire a Senior Thermal Engineer to lead the analysis and definition of next‑gen satellite platforms.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly technical specialist who excels at combining advanced simulation tools and orbital physics. The ideal candidate is someone who can set the standard for thermal analysis, instinctively looks for ways to streamline the workflow and elevates the engineering standards across the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, refine and manage detailed thermal models for satellite buses and payloads.
• Establish efficient and scalable workflows for model creation, simulation, and analysis.
• Define thermal architecture in collaboration with cross‑functional engineering teams and select the appropriate hardware.
• Lead and coordinate the planning and execution of TVAC.
• Serve as a technical leader within the thermal team by reviewing models, guiding design decisions, and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Practical experience in delivering high‑quality results in satellite thermal control systems and analysis.
• Deep proficiency in Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal (formerly NX thermal).
• Proven ability to manage large and complex FEM assemblies.
• Comprehensive understanding of spaceflight thermal hardware.
• Proven track record of correlating thermal models to TVAC test data.

Desired Qualifications

• Advanced Degree.
• Experience with additional thermal analysis tools such as Thermal Desktop, SINDA/FLUINT, or ESATAN‑TMS.
