Job summary

TRC Talent Solutions is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to support advanced aerospace programs, including spacecraft, launch vehicles, missiles, and hypersonic systems. You will lead thermal analysis, modeling, and design for challenging environments and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities cover thermal design, environment analysis, and predictive calculations, with collaboration across structures, propulsion, and systems teams.

Qualifications

• Aerospace thermal analysis and modeling experience is required.
• Strong understanding of conductive, convective, and radiative heat transfer.
• Experience supporting launch vehicles, spacecraft, missiles, aircraft, or hypersonic systems.
• Ability to mentor engineers in Thermal Desktop and related tools.
• Eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermal design, analysis, and modeling for aerospace and flight systems.
• Analyze thermal environments for launch vehicles, spacecraft, missiles, and hypersonic platforms.
• Predict thermal loads, heat fluxes, heat rates, and surface temperatures.
• Develop and execute thermal models using industry-standard analysis tools.
• Support thermal protection system (TPS) development and thermal management solutions.
• Collaborate with structures, propulsion, aerodynamics, and systems engineering teams.
• Support development and improvement of thermal analysis methodologies and modeling tools.
• Mentor engineers in Thermal Desktop and related thermal analysis applications.
• Document technical findings and support design reviews and engineering presentations.
