SENIOR THERAPEUTIC ACTIVITIES ASSISTANT (RECREATION)

Job Overview

The Senior Therapeutic Activities Assistant develops, implements, coordinates, and supervises recreational activities for inpatient residents. The role supports care, treatment, rehabilitation, socialization, and psychological adjustment. It also involves ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines, meeting agency standards, and obtaining necessary certifications to uphold the hospital's mission of providing high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist the Lead TAA in developing and coordinating the Recreation program activities.
  2. Manage a caseload and ensure all documentation and care plans are completed timely.
  3. Prepare monthly activities calendars for residents.
  4. Participate as a member of the care plan team, sharing information about residents’ activities and behaviors.
  5. Deliver activities to participants and evaluate their engagement.
  6. Investigate incidents, notify relevant team members, and prepare reports as needed.
  7. Assist with orientation and supervision of volunteers and interns if required.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in a related medical or educational field, or an Associate's Degree with at least two years of relevant experience in recreation, psychology, or education. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Experience: Two to five years in pediatric therapeutic programs or related fields, with experience in data entry and documentation.
