Job summary

Seattle Rep is seeking the Alhadeff Studio Head Technician to implement designs for Cornish at Seattle University productions and professional rentals. This full-time, academic-year staff role typically runs September–May with extra summer hours for maintenance and shows.

Representative by IATSE Local #15, the position requires strong leadership, extensive lighting knowledge, and ability to coordinate with SU and Cornish staff for safe, timely production support.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work with students and professional production teams.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains the Alhadeff Studio facilities with Technical Supervisor.
  • Runs IATSE crews during all calls/events in Alhadeff Studio.
  • Collaborates with SU Academic Venue Supervisor, Production Manager, and Cornish Faculty to set standards.
  • Attends SU department and show meetings as scheduled.
  • Maintains equipment inventory records and paperwork.
  • Supports SU Academic Venue Supervisor in safe work environment.
  • Generates labor estimations and schedules; loads in, runs shows, and loads out.
  • Assists students and clients in gear choices.
  • Works across multiple areas: electrics, programming, scenery, audio, projections.
  • Acts as Swing Technician for SU Playhouse Mainstage.
