Job summary

Sora Fuel is developing carbon-neutral jet fuel technology and seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer for test stands. You will design, build, and commission critical hardware testing infrastructure that simulates DAC and carbonate electrolyzer environments.

The role requires balancing creative engineering with a steadfast safety focus. You will own test platforms from concept through manufacturing drawings, coordinate with chemists and engineers, and drive rapid R&D iterations while maintaining

Qualifications

• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience building test stands, fluid loops or R&D rigs.
• Deep understanding of mechanical safety principles and pressure vessel ratings.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, Inventor or similar 3D CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of custom test rigs from concept to manufacturing drawings.
• Collaborate with chemists/engineers to ensure designs meet system requirements.
• Design structural framing, fluid manifolds, and ducting/piping systems.
• Perform structural and thermal/fluid analyses to handle high temps/pressures.
• Lead fabrication, assembly, and integration with instrumentation and control hardware.
