Job summary

Wisk is recruiting a Staff Test Pilot to join the test, evaluation and certification of a new class of all-electric aircraft. As part of the Flight Test team, you will work with test pilots, technicians, and engineers to verify and validate the vehicle for certification.

This onsite role at Hollister, CA requires extensive flight test experience, FAA credentials, and strong leadership and communication skills to drive safe, efficient test campaigns and support certification milestones.

Qualifications

• 8 years experience as a test pilot in flight testing fixed/rotary-wing aircraft or similar aerospace systems.
• FAA Commercial Pilot or ATP certificate (Fixed or Rotary Wing).
• Minimum FAA Second Class Medical certificate.
• Depth of experience with flight and operations safety risk management.
• Experience informing vehicle design from engineering data.
• Experience relating engineering data to operational use cases.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Graduate of an engineering test pilot program.
• Experience conducting flight programs pursuing FAA/TCCA/EASA Certification.
• Unmanned aircraft flight operations experience.
• Electric propulsion or high stored energy test experience.
• Fixed-wing and turbine-engine rotary-wing flight test experience.
• Human-to-vehicle interface design, test and evaluation experience.
• Formal formation flight training and experience.
• Familiarity with MBSE processes.

Responsibilities

• Author air vehicle and subsystem test plans.
• Evaluate hazards posed by the test method and scope and establish mitigations.
• Perform flight tests on our general aviation and UAS platforms.
• Develop, review and approve trajectory planning for UAS missions.
• Report test results to certification authorities standards.
• Support program documentation including SOPs, Aircraft Flight Manuals.
• Mentor and lead fellow testers, modeling safe practices and safety culture.
