Job summary

Wisk Aero is seeking a Staff Test Pilot for onsite work at Hollister, CA, to lead flight test, evaluation and certification activities for a new class of all-electric aircraft. You will author test plans, assess hazards, pilot both manned and unmanned aircraft, and guide trajectory planning for UAS missions.

The role requires 8+ years of test-pilot experience, FAA Commercial Pilot or ATP, Second Class Medical, and a strong engineering background.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience as a test pilot in flight testing complex aerospace systems.
• FAA Commercial Pilot or ATP certificate (Fixed or Rotary).
• Minimum FAA Second Class Medical certificate.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Experience with safety risk management in flight operations.
• Experience with unmanned aircraft operations and certification programs.

Responsibilities

• Author air vehicle and subsystem test plans.
• Evaluate hazards and establish mitigations.
• Perform flight tests on general aviation and UAS.
• Develop, review and approve trajectory planning for UAS missions.
• Report test results to certification authorities.
• Support program documentation including SOPs and flight manuals.
• Mentor and lead fellow flight testers.
