Job summary

Mphasis is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong Core Java and Selenium skills, plus REST API experience, to build and maintain automation frameworks. This role involves designing and expanding test scripts, collaborating with QA and development teams, and contributing in an Agile environment.

The candidate should be hands-on with Java concepts, able to create small utilities, and comfortable with data structures, SQL queries, and AWS services.

Qualifications

• SDET with strong Core Java and Selenium experience.
• Hands-on with REST API testing and automation frameworks.
• Experience in data structures and algorithms and automated testing processes.
• Ability to design and enhance test automation scripts/framework independently.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum/Kanban environments and working with Jira/ALM.

Responsibilities

• Independently design, develop & enhance test automation scripts/framework.
• Collaborate with QA Analysts and Software Developers to develop solutions.
• Expand automation framework to provide additional test capabilities.
• Analyze existing systems to identify areas for improvement.

Technical Skills

• Selenium and TestNG
• Strong in Core Java
• Experience in REST API
• Cypress experience is a plus
• Good Knowledge in AWS Services
• Cypress or Playwright experience is a plus
• Handson experience in Java concepts and programming
• Capabilities to develop small utility tools in JAVA
• Experience in Developing Automation framework
• Experience in BDD and TestNG
• Good knowledge of automated testing processes, methodologies and software development lifecycles, and good knowledge on data Structures and algorithms
• Independently design, develop & enhance test automation scripts/framework.
• Ability to conduct root cause analysis
• Collaborating with QA Analysts and Software Developers to develop solutions.
• Experience within an Agile/Scrum/ Kanban environment.
• Experience with Jira & ALM
• Good knowledge of database/SQL queries
• Work closely with the team to ensure script implementation comply with best practices and testability requirements
• Work closely with software developers and test engineers to understand software workflows, use cases and specifications in creating automated tests across the application
• Expand automation framework to provide additional test capabilities. Analyze existing systems to find areas for improvement
• Actively participate in an agile development process
