Job summary

Farther is seeking an experienced Software Engineer, Test Infrastructure (SETI) to design and grow the testing ecosystem for our TypeScript codebase. You will build scalable tooling, pipelines, and environments that empower frontend and backend engineers to ship faster with confidence.

You will own automated testing strategies, mocking utilities, and production-like test environments, while collaborating across teams to uphold reliability, security, and high standards for financial services

Qualifications

• Experience designing and maintaining testing infrastructure and tooling.
• Strong understanding of test automation patterns and environments.
• Proficient in building CI/CD pipelines and fast feedback loops.
• Experience with AWS infrastructure and deployment practices.
• Ability to instrument software for reliable testing and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust testing tooling and infrastructure for frontend and backend systems.
• Develop advanced CI/CD pipelines with file-change tracking, smart test selection, and parallelization.
• Create utilities for mocking APIs, stubbing services, and isolated test environments that mirror production.
• Monitor test reliability and performance, driving improvements across teams.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure testability, traceability, and deployment readiness.
• Document testing architecture and onboard teams to best practices in test workflows.
• Guide technical decisions for testing infrastructure supporting trading and portfolio platforms.
• Establish patterns for rapid, confident development across wealth management offerings.
• Partner with backend teams to create reusable test fixtures and data factories.
