Job summary

NuSpace in Long Beach seeks a Senior Test Engineer to support qualification and acceptance testing of spacecraft propellant and pressurant tanks. You will develop test procedures, fixtures, and provide shop-floor support with cross-functional teams.

You will review data, write test reports, and lead continuous improvement projects, reporting to the engineering manager and coordinating with Supply Chain, Quality, and Production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering from an accredited university or college.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in test engineering.

Responsibilities

• Committed to working to the highest safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Support new development and qualification programs with test and fixture design, writing test procedures, and providing engineering oversight for critical tests.
• Provide hands-on technical support for NuSpace test technicians and vendor support as well as develop strong working relationships with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.
• Review and analyze test data to assess acceptability against test requirements, in-family performance against past tests, and assess any abnormalities. Generate clear plots and charts with on test data.
• Technical liaison for Program Management and NuSpace customers on supporting programs as required.
• Provide technical expertise to Quality on test non-conformances using RCCA methodologies and providing rework/repair recommendations to Engineering.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance testing capabilities and processes within NuSpace and its suppliers.
