Job summary

Elbit America, Inc. in Roanoke, Virginia seeks a Senior Test Engineer to design, develop, and validate night‑vision sensor systems. You will create test hardware and software and collaborate across electrical, mechanical, optical, software, and systems teams to release products.

A bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; an MS is preferred. Candidates with 5+ years in test design (BS) or 3+ years with an MS are encouraged to apply, and the role requires ability to obtain a Secret-level DoD

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and DoD clearance eligibility.
• 5+ years in test design and development (BS) or 3+ years with MS.
• Experience leading a team or project and communicating clearly.
• Ability to read schematics and mechanical drawings/models.
• Experience in product qualification and cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain test equipment for all product testing stages.
• Lead and participate in design validation testing and product qualification.
• Develop requirements, plans, procedures, and reports for test systems.
• Create design architecture for test fixtures and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Monitor budgets and ensure costs align with the budget.
• Participate in design reviews and provide test‑related feedback.
• Manage document control and change management for test work products.
• Interface with engineering and program management to understand scope.
• Research new test technologies and apply them to product testing.
