Job summary

HID Global in Cypress, CA is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to lead testing of embedded systems, hardware and access control devices. The role combines hands-on QA with mentoring and cross-functional collaboration to ensure product quality across Windows and Linux environments.

You will design test plans, develop automation scripts, and drive improvements in QA processes while partnering with global teams to deliver reliable, secure access control solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on QA engineering with embedded systems.
• Experience testing Windows and Linux applications.
• Strong automation experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test plans for embedded systems.
• Perform functional, automation, integration and regression tests.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and frameworks.
• Set up hardware test environments and rigs.
• Use Wireshark for network analysis of device communications.
• Identify and track defects; ensure timely fixes.
• Validate firmware, applications, and system integrations on Windows and Linux.
• Ensure QA standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality.
• Mentor junior QA engineers.
• Contribute to QA process improvements.
• Support device testing labs and test rigs.
• Analyze results and report findings.
