Job summary

Astrion is seeking a TEST ENGINEER A/A to support the 780th Test Squadron on the TMAS II contract at EGLIN AFB, FL. The candidate should have a working knowledge of airborne weapon systems and air-to-air/air-to-surface weapons testing.

Required is a master’s degree in engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience and an active Secret clearance. Strong communication, technical writing, and MS Office skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Active Secret clearance with eligibility for SAP.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with multiple stakeholders and resolve competing test resource requirements.
  • Self-motivated to learn new test systems and take responsibility for assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Establish standards for test documentation and technical reporting.
  • Provide technical review of test directives, methods, data packages and reports.
  • Present test strategy and procedures to leadership and boards.
  • Manage engineering duties for development, evaluation and operational tests of major programs.
  • Develop test planning for emerging weapon programs.
  • Provide support to the Flight Chief and coordinate with program offices and contractors.
  • Brief and debrief aircrew on mission execution and requirements; act as Test Conductor during missions.
